Nicole Kidman Called Keith Urban Her ‘Deep Love’ Just Over a Year Before Filing for Divorce
The "Babygirl" star reflected on her profound affection for her husband and how his support carried her through the years. The news of their separation — and now divorce — emerged earlier this week.
Past interviews are resurfacing amid Nicole Kidman's split from her husband, country star Keith Urban, after 19 years of marriage. The couple was relatively private about their relationship; however, they did occasionally open up about their love for one another.

In April 2025, Kidman sat down with PEOPLE for a brief chat as part of the outlet's 50th anniversary special issue. The acclaimed Australian-born actress looked back at 25 eventful years in Hollywood and reflected on how far she has come.
When asked how it felt to have had the world follow her entire journey, she replied, "Crazy. Crazy good. I started working at 14, and I've grown up on camera and in front of people, so that's really exposing, but at the same time, it's my path."
She continued, "I've shared my ups and downs with the world and also shared all of my work. That's been my life...my children, my husband and my work." The filmmaker also noted how her family has been a crucial part of her support system.

"I have my sister, mother, nieces, nephews, daughters. I'm raising a soon to be 16-year-old and a 13-year-old who are divine," she said of her daughters Sunday Rose and Faith Margaret, now 17 and 14, whom she shares with Urban.
"They're just lovely people and I'm so lucky that I have Keith, who's just my love, my deep, deep love," she continued. "That gives me the ability to go and do whatever I have to do because I know where I can come back to."
Unfortunately, things have taken a sad turn for the couple. On Monday, September 29, news broke that they had been separated and living apart since the beginning of summer. By the following day, Kidman had officially filed for divorce, citing irreconcilable differences.
