Nicole Scherzinger Called the AMAs Return 'Incredible'
Ahead of the award show, the pop star, 47, said it felt surreal to bring half of The Pussycat Dolls back to the American Music Awards stage after so many years. "It's incredible," she stated.
The singer added that the passing of time felt almost hard to believe, especially as the group reunited with Busta Rhymes for the night. She called the rapper a legend and said:

"We love him. I actually just did a couple shows with him over the weekend overseas, and to be reunited with him, to be on the same stage with him, is always an honor."

Scherzinger had recently performed with him overseas, making the AMAs reunion even more meaningful. The performance also marked a new version of The Pussycat Dolls.
Scherzinger also revealed that returning with Ashley Roberts and Kimberly Wyatt at this stage of their lives carried a different kind of purpose, with the trio hoping to bring "hope, joy, and empowerment" to fans.

The Trio Brought Back Early 2000s Energy
For their AMAs performance, The Pussycat Dolls leaned into a look that nodded to the group's early aughts era. Scherzinger wore a long-sleeve red latex mock-neck jumpsuit before adding a white hoodie near the end of the performance.
The hoodie featured the famous lyric, "Don't you wish your girlfriend was hot like me." Roberts and Wyatt, both 44, matched the red latex theme.

In the years that followed, Scherzinger continued building her solo career, appearing in NBC's "Annie Live!" and releasing new music.
Roberts wore bikini-style bottoms, while Wyatt opted for shorts. Both completed their looks with gloves and knee-high boots. Together, the trio performed their hit "Don't Cha" with Busta Rhymes, bringing one of their most recognizable songs back to a major awards-show stage.

The Pussycat Dolls Are Moving Forward Again
The AMAs performance came after The Pussycat Dolls announced their reunion in March 2026 and released a new track called "Club Song." The group is also set to perform at Outloud Music Festival during L.A.'s WeHo Pride celebrations.
The reunion followed a previous attempt to bring the group back together in 2019, though that tour was ultimately canceled because of the pandemic.

In the years that followed, Scherzinger continued building her solo career, appearing in NBC's "Annie Live!" and releasing new music. She later took on one of her most acclaimed roles as Norma Desmond in "Sunset Blvd.," starring in both the Broadway and West End productions.
The role earned her a Tony Award and an Olivier Award, and Nicole Scherzinger said she wanted her Norma to feel like a victor rather than a victim.

After that chapter closed in July 2025, the singer felt drawn back to another kind of stage. Performing for theater audiences had fed her "inner artist," but it also reminded her how much she missed performing with the group.
That realization led her back to Roberts and Wyatt. Now, The Pussycat Dolls' return is not just a throwback. It is a new chapter shaped by the women they have become.
