Kate Beckinsale Announces Death of Mother Judy Loe: 'I Am Paralyzed'

The "Underworld" star penned a moving tribute to her mom on social media. The English native's death comes just over a year after the loss of her husband.

Kate Beckinsale took to her Instagram account on July 18, 2025, and reluctantly revealed that her mother, Judy Loe, recently passed away at 78.

"She died the night of July 15th in my arms after immeasurable suffering," wrote the English actress. The star shared she was hesitant to share the news but had to because she had to register Loe's death certificate, which would've gone public.

Along with the heartbreaking post, Beckinsale posted a carousel of her and Loe from over the years. The London native admitted she couldn't choose the best ones because she was overwhelmed by her mother's passing.

She offered apologies to the fellow actress's friends for learning about the news online, as she didn't directly share it with them, adding:

"I am paralyzed. Jude was the compass of my life, the love of my life, my dearest friend."

Loe's passing comes after her daughter revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer in July 2024. Earlier that same year, in January, Beckinsale also lost her stepfather, Roy Battersby, at 87 after suffering from a short illness.
