Sydney Towle knew exactly what she wanted her legacy to be. The beloved influencer passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2026, at just 26 years old, after a rare and aggressive cancer diagnosis changed the course of her life three years earlier.

Towle had spent that time chronicling her illness publicly, drawing millions of followers who watched her navigate treatment with candor and humor.

Now, in the wake of her death, admirers are circling back to old interviews, pulling fresh meaning from words she shared long before anyone expected them to double as a farewell.

"Well, what I would want to tell people, I think, I've actually thought about this before," Towle said in a November 2025 conversation with Danielle Robay on the "Question Everything" podcast.

"Like, if I were to make one more video, what would I say?" she continued. "And it was my last video, I think I would just remind people, what I've said to you already, is to treat people with kindness."

She described that gesture as "the biggest" way anyone could shape another person's life for the better. "Just treat people with compassion, empathy, and treat people the way you want to be treated," she continued.

"It sounds so cliché, and it's such a common saying, but I feel like we never know what someone is going through," Towle said. "And if you could spread, like, a little bit of kindness, a little bit of positivity goes such a long way for someone else, and it could make their day, their week. That's the thing that I would always say."

Towle was only 23 when doctors diagnosed her with bile duct cancer, medically known as cholangiocarcinoma, a disease that typically affects people over 50. Her family confirmed the news through social media on Thursday, August 6, revealing she had died the previous day.

"We will always love you so much, Sydney. I am so proud of how hard you fought. I love you," the caption read, accompanying a photo of Towle perched on a rocky mountaintop, bathed in golden-hour light.
