Emma Watson Receives Six-Month Driving Ban for Speeding
The "Harry Potter" actress, who is currently studying after stepping away from the spotlight, competed on the Oxford rowing team last month, nearly a year after the speeding incident.
After a hearing that took place on July 16, 2025, Emma Watson was banned from driving for the next six months. In addition, she was also ordered to pay $1,396.
Watson, who reportedly didn't attend the hearing, had already had nine points on her license when she was caught speeding at 38 mph in a 30 mph zone in July 2024, in Oxford, England.
Currently, the film star, who appeared in the "Harry Potter" franchise from 2001 to 2011, has taken a break from the limelight. She even enrolled for a master's program in creative writing at Oxford University in September 2024.
She even competed at the institution's sporting competition in May 2025. She participated in Oxford's rowing team for the university's Summer Eights rowing regatta on the River Thames.
For the outdoor activity, the 35-year-old movie actress was pictured out of her element, as she guided her crew as a coxswain, using her mic to coordinate eight rowers.
