Nara Smith opened up about her daughter Whimsy Lou's cancer battle and the emotional moment she rang the remission bell. The influencer explained why she ultimately decided to share the private journey with her followers.

Nara Smith is getting candid about her family's cancer journey. The mother of four recently discussed the emotional aftermath of her toddler daughter's remission during a recent interview.

The influencer and cookbook author sat down with Alex Cooper on "Call Her Daddy," where she opened up about taking two-year-old Whimsy Lou to the hospital for cancer treatments.

Nara had first revealed Whimsy's diagnosis two months prior, after choosing to keep the journey private while her daughter received care. Nara explained that a pivotal moment came right after Whimsy finished treatment.

"Right after her birthday, she was in remission," she recounted on the July 29 episode.

"We finished her last treatment, we rang the bell, it was very emotional and I just realized, 'Well, maybe if I use my platform to make even just one person feel less alone, I can do that.' And that's kind of why we shared it," she said, admitting the decision wasn't taken lightly.

Throughout Whimsy's health journey, Nara said she frequently debated whether to go public with the diagnosis. She was especially worried that people might photograph or film her family in the hospital, potentially exposing her daughter's treatment.

"To me, her safety and privacy was the most important thing," Nara said. "I would always go back and forth with Lucky saying, 'Should we just share it? Should we just talk about it? What if someone else does?' And he's like, 'But that doesn't matter, what do you feel like in your heart?'"

Nara initially didn't want to share Whimsy's diagnosis, but over time she found herself connecting with other families facing similar circumstances, which changed her perspective on speaking out.

"I found a lot of community in the hospital talking to parents or the nurses or going on Reddit and like reading people's stories, like all of that," she explained. "And the more I kind of went through that, I realized that I find a lot of comfort in knowing that I'm not alone."

Nara revealed that Whimsy was diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer in late 2025. She had first shared the news in a video posted to Instagram on July 1, later going on to confirm her remission in another post on July 17.

"Lucky and I have been going through this and processing it for the last eight months, and we were debating on even sharing such a private part of our life," Nara said in the clip.

"We wanted to wait until she is done with treatment, and us knowing what the outcome of her situation would be before sharing it, and even finding the words to share it," she continued.

Connecting with other families also opened Nara's eyes to how costly healthcare can be and the financial strain it places on those affected. As a result, she created a GoFundMe page linking to fundraisers for other families with children undergoing cancer treatment.

Nara, who is also mom to Rumble Honey, 5, Slim Easy, 4, and Fawnie Gold, 9 months, and stepmom to Lucky's daughter Gravity Blue with ex Stormi Bree, also shared how her family is adjusting to life after Whimsy's diagnosis.

"Lucky and I have been trying to return to everyday life and taking it day by day," she explained. "I don't know whether life will ever feel normal again, but we're trying to navigate this next chapter the best that we can."

Nara also thanked her followers for their continued support during this difficult chapter. "Thank you so so much for all your kind messages, prayers, support," she said. "It truly has meant so so much to us."
