17-Year-Old Influencer Killed Just Days After Celebrating Birthday
The teen TikTok star's life — who had amassed over two million followers across her social media platforms — ended tragically after a stalker shot her dead just hours after her final post, which commemorated her birthday celebration.
Police in Pakistan have arrested a 22-year-old man on suspicion of murdering 17-year-old Sana Yousaf at her home in Islamabad on Monday evening, June 2.
Investigators say the man had spent hours loitering outside Yousaf's house before fatally shooting her. Islamabad police chief Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi addressed the incident in a press conference on Tuesday, June 3.
He revealed that the accused had tried to contact Yousaf online on multiple occasions. "It was a case of repeated rejections. The boy was trying to reach out to her time and again. It was a gruesome and cold-blooded murder," Rizvi said.
Hours before her death, Yousaf had posted a videomontage showing how she celebrated her 17th birthday on Instagram. One of the clips showed her cutting into her birthday cake as she beamed at the camera.
Messages of condolences and sorrow have poured in since the news of her passing emerged. Her death also serves as a grim reminder of the violence against women currently gripping Pakistan.
