Eddie Murphy’s Son Quietly Marries Martin Lawrence’s Daughter

The "Coming to America" star revealed the good news during an episode of "The Jennifer Hudson Show." His son and now-daughter-in-law got engaged late last year.

Eddie Murphy recently sat down for a chat with singer and actress Jennifer Hudson on her eponymous show. The pair began by reminiscing about their days as former co-stars in the acclaimed 2006 musical drama "Dreamgirls."

Eddie shared that he was still doing music and even had unreleased songs he had recorded with several artists, including Michael Jackson. Jennifer then asked if the actor planned to sing at his son Eric's wedding.

That's when he dropped the bombshell. "Actually, they got married like two weeks ago," Eddie told the host. Eric privately married his fiancée, Jasmine Lawrence—who is Martin Lawrence's daughter—in an intimate church ceremony.

"They went off—everybody was making the big wedding plans, then they decided they wanted something quiet with just the two of them. Now Martin don't gotta pay for a big wedding," he joked.

Since the couple has already tied the knot, Eddie said there might still be a big celebration for the family. When asked if would sing at this party, he declined, saying Martin might do the honors. Or, better yet, they might perform a duet.

The actors' children announced their engagement in November 2024 with an Instagram video montage. "11.27.2024. We're engaged!! God truly blessed us with a love that feels like destiny. We couldn't be more excited for this next chapter ❤️❤️," they wrote at the time.
