Britney Spears Returns to Instagram with Lingerie Photo After Deleting Account
The "Oops!... I Did It Again" singer deleted her account over the past week following a number of worrying posts and controversy regarding her ex-husband Kevin Federline's new tell-all memoir.
Britney Spears has made her return to Instagram with a racy photo less than a week after deleting her account following a string of troubling posts. On Friday, November 8, the singer uploaded a snap of herself in lingerie, which appeared to be a screenshot from a paused video.

She paired the lacy underwear with heeled leather boots and makeup, standing just outside what appeared to be the doorway to her closet. "So much has happened this year, it's crazy," she began in the caption
"I try to live within my means and the book, 'Draw the Circle' is an incredible perspective," she continued. "Get your ballerina 🩰, circle, and own your boundaries. It's incredibly strict and somewhat of a form of prayer but with so many endless possibilities in life."
"It's important to do you and keep it simple. I know there is a confusing side too. The devil is in the details but we can get to that later 😳😂🤧," she wrote. Spears' post comes after she deactivated her account on Sunday, November 2.
Fans reported searching for it and receiving a message that stated her "profile may have been removed." Others who tried accessing the account were met with the message: "The profile you're looking for doesn't exist."
The deactivation followed a series of concerning posts in recent weeks that included living room dancing videos with cryptic captions about her sons, Jayden James, 19, and Sean Preston, 20.
One video, posted on October 7, shows her with bruises on her arms and bandages wrapped around her wrists. In the caption, Spears explained she had fallen down the stairs and shared that her sons were traveling back to Hawaii.
Jayden and James reside there with their father, Spears' ex-husband, Kevin Federline. "My boys had to leave and go back to Maui," she said, before opening up about why she posts dancing videos.
"This is the way I express myself and pray through art … father who art in heaven … I'm not here for concern or pity, I just want to be a good woman and be better … and I do have wonderful support, so have a brilliant day!!!" she wrote.
She added, "Psss I fell down the stairs at my friend's house … it was horrible … it snaps out now and then, not sure if it's broken but for now it's snapped in !!! Thank u god [sic]." In another post, Spears referred to herself as Mother Teresa.
"My kids have known me as Saint Mother Theresa , for 15 years mom was the sister … I'm the daughter you're the parent !!! Get it straight teacher … can I come to your class mamma I have my schoolgirl outfit on … let's go shopping first thing," she wrote.
Meanwhile, the mother of two has been embroiled in controversy following the publication of Federline's memoir, "You Thought You Knew," this past October. The longtime dancer raised concerns about his ex-wife's behavior on social media in the book itself and in promotional interviews.
In an excerpt obtained by Us Weekly, Federline worried that "history [was] repeating itself," drawing comparisons to Spears' public behavior following their 2007 divorce.
The Grammy-winning artist was ultimately placed under a 13-year conservatorship that was eventually terminated thanks to public pressure from the #FreeBritney movement in 2021.
"With her newfound freedom, I saw history repeating itself," Federline wrote. "Her social media posts became more erratic. There were the infamous videos of her dancing with knives, cryptic rants and wild behavior that was impossible to ignore."
Federline also claimed that his sons began to avoid social media due to backlash from fans and #FreeBritney movement extremists. "The boys understood that it was better to form a relationship with their mom on their own terms," he said.
During his appearance on "Piers Morgan Uncensored," he claimed that Preston and Jayden had distanced themselves from their mother, though they still fear for her life. "They're terrified and they're worried about their mom and they don't know how to help because of what all of this has cost," he said.
