Anne Hathaway is navigating a packed year on screen, with five films set for release in 2026. As her schedule intensified, the actress says her husband, Adam Shulman, played a central role in helping her keep pace at home.
Speaking in PEOPLE’s “World’s Most Beautiful 2026” issue, Hathaway reflected on the demands of the past year and the support system that allowed her to take on multiple projects at once.

A Busy Year in Film For Hathaway
Hathaway, 43, appears in “The Devil Wears Prada 2,” “Mother Mary,” “The Odyssey,” “The End of Oak Street,” and “Verity” this year.
She described the stretch as out of the ordinary, noting that both she and Shulman understood it would likely be a one-time experience.
“He supports me completely,” Hathaway said. “This year in particular was unusual.”

Support at Home Made the Difference
With two children at home, balancing five productions required added coordination. Hathaway shares sons Jonathan, 10, and Jack, 6, with Shulman, 45.
She said her husband stepped in across all areas of their daily life, allowing her to stay focused on her work commitments.
“And the way he stepped up, I mean, in every possible way, he’s the most extraordinary person I’ve ever met,” she gushed.

A Long-Term Partnership
Hathaway and Shulman met in 2008 at the Palm Springs International Film Festival and married in 2012. Over the years, Shulman has worked as a jewelry designer and film producer, while also remaining closely involved in their family life.

The actress said the past year reinforced how much she depends on that partnership.

Her Husband Holds It Down
Reflecting on their dynamic, Hathaway pointed to the consistency Shulman brings at home. “He’s just, he’s on it. He holds it down,” she said.
That stability, she explained, made it possible for her to commit to a demanding slate without stepping back from family responsibilities.

Balancing Work and Family
Hathaway said having a supportive partner is essential when managing both career and home life at the same time.
“I absolutely would not be able to have achieved what I’ve done without my husband,” she added.

In addition to handling day-to-day responsibilities, she also noted that Shulman’s cooking is something she values, pointing to the smaller ways he contributes at home.
While 2026 stands out for its volume of work, Hathaway indicated that this level of output is unlikely to continue at the same pace.

For now, she is focused on the projects ahead and the balance she has maintained with Shulman’s support behind the scenes.
