Sara Bareilles and Joe Tippett Tie the Knot After Nine Years Together

The singer-songwriter and the actor walked down the aisle this past weekend and shared some of their precious memories online.

On October 7, 2025, Sara Bareilles posted several images from her wedding to Joe Tippett that took place a few days earlier. The pair had been engaged since January 2023 and together since 2016.

In one of the photos, the couple can be seen kissing on benches that were arranged for a wedding aisle outdoors. The singer wore a white dress with a slit up her leg and a plunging neckline and was holding a bouquet of autumn-colored flowers. Tippett was seen in his tux but without the jacket.

In the caption, Bairelles wrote, "We did a big thing. I will just say I love this man and I love the community who came to hold us up. I am feeling so lucky and so grateful. ❤️"

The wedding appears to have taken place on October 4, as Tippett posted an image that day, hugging Bareilles, where he wrote, "Marrying My Best Friend Today. May We All Be So Lucky."

The couple had shared details of their engagement, which took place in Mexico City, with People in 2023. According to Tippet, they had been talking about getting engaged for a while and were looking for a great ring, but hadn't found one yet.

But he wanted to ask her, so they found an inexpensive option and got engaged on a roof at sunset while they were dancing. Surprisingly, he actually forgot the ring and had to go back to their room for it before finally being able to get down on one knee.

Bareilles and Tippett originally met in 2015 while working on the musical "Waitress," an adaptation of the 2007 movie. They began dating a year later and went public with their relationship in 2017.
