Madonna Reveals She Contemplated Suicide During Divorce from Guy Ritchie
In her first podcast interview in nearly a decade, Madonna opened up about the struggles she faced during her divorce from Guy Ritchie, including moments when she considered ending her life.
Madonna has disclosed that she considered suicide during her custody battle with ex-husband Guy Ritchie. The 67-year-old singer spoke candidly on "On Purpose with Jay Shetty," her first podcast interview in nine years.

Over the two-hour discussion, she reflected on how spirituality helped her navigate some of the darkest periods of her life. Madonna became embroiled in a high-profile custody dispute with Guy in 2016 over their son Rocco, then 16.
At the time, Rocco left her "Rebel Heart" tour to live with his father in London. The singer had primary custody of her son, but a settlement later allowed him to remain in the UK.
In the interview, Madonna admitted she was "suffering" before beginning her spiritual journey. She said there were moments she "actually contemplated suicide" and described sobbing in her dressing room during the legal fight.
