Jennifer Aniston on Her Go-To Comfort When She Needs a Boost
When life gets overwhelming, Jennifer Aniston leans on simple joys to keep her spirits high. From spending time with her closest friends to enjoying comfort food and the company of her beloved dogs, the actress has found reliable ways to lift her mood.
When Jennifer Aniston is in need of a lift, she turns to a few reliable sources of comfort. The 56-year-old star of "The Morning Show" recently opened up to PEOPLE about the routines and relationships that help her stay positive.
Aniston, who just released her new children’s cookbook "Cook with Clydeo," said that spending time with her closest friends is often the quickest way to brighten her mood.
"I have a really wonderful, loving, solid group of friends who are very funny on top of being wonderful human beings. And so, we make each other laugh," the Emmy Award-winning actress shared.
She added that inviting friends over is "always an instant pick-me-up," whether she is cooking at home making comfort food or heading out. "I'll go to my favorite restaurant with some girlfriends, have a martini, and some delicious meal," she explained.
Aniston also highlighted a few of her go-to confidantes, including "Friends" co-stars Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow, as well as Amanda Anka, Andrea Bendewald, Jennifer Meyer, and others. "You'll find one of them. And if you don't, someone will eventually call you back," she said with a laugh.
Apart from her circle of friends, Aniston finds comfort in quiet time with a documentary — while steering clear of the news. And at home, her dogs Clyde and Lord Chesterfield are another constant source of joy. "Those are my babes," she said of her beloved pets. "There is no question, they are spoiled."
One of the sweetest surprises recently, she noted, has been receiving photos of friends and their families recreating recipes from "Cook with Clydeo," especially the banana pancakes.
Released on September 9, 2025, "Cook with Clydeo" features 35 recipes spanning meals and snacks, all told from the perspective of Clydeo, an animated pup first introduced on Aniston's Instagram in 2021.
The project follows her first children's book, "Clydeo Takes a Bite Out of Life," illustrated by Bruno Jacob, which came out in October 2024 as part of a four-book collaboration with HarperCollins and Invisible Universe.
