Reba McEntire Confirms Engagement to Longtime Love Rex Linn

The beloved country star, who previously hinted she was willing to marry for a third time, confirmed the good news while attending the 2025 Primetime Emmys with her beau.

Reba McEntire and Rex Linn are ready for the next step in their relationship. The couple stepped out for a special date night at the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday evening, September 14, where they confirmed their engagement!

McEntire was speaking to E! News' Zuri Hall, who referred to Linn as both her co-star on the NBC sitcom, "Happy's Place," and her fiancé. "We're having a blast on 'Happy's Place' and so glad to be here tonight," the singer happily replied.

A source who spoke to PEOPLE also shared, "It happened a few months ago and they are very happy." The couple attended the prestigious affair to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the iconic ‘80s sitcom, "The Golden Girls," with McEntire later performing a musical tribute.

"It's a show that you can watch forever," McEntire told Hall, before Linn jokingly chimed in, "If you're not a fan of 'The Golden Girls,' it would be like not liking puppies." The pair first met in the 1990s but their romance only began in 2020 after they reconnected on "Young Sheldon."

They've only grown stronger since, with McEntire once declaring she was "truly committed" to Linn. The "I'm a Survivor" hitmaker — who was previously married twice, to Charlie Battles and Narvel Blackstock — said she was willing to marry Linn if he wished.

"If that's something he feels totally strong about, that's fine with me," she told E! News in an April 2024 interview. "He's never been married before. So, if he wants to experience that, I'm OK with that."
