Donald Trump Says He Had ‘A Long Talk’ with Charlie Kirk’s Wife After His Death
The president previously confirmed the right-wing activist's death shortly after his fatal shooting. He later announced that he would posthumously award him a prestigious presidential honor.
President Donald Trump has shared that he spoke with Charlie Kirk's wife, Erika Kirk, following the politician's fatal shooting at Utah Valley University. Charlie was killed by a single shot to the neck while hosting a student event on campus grounds on Wednesday, September 10.

He was initially reported to be in critical condition after being taken to a hospital but was pronounced dead just a couple of hours later. Speaking to reporters at the White House shortly after announcing Charlie's death, Trump revealed he had already spoken to Erika.
"I spoke to Erika, [Charlie's] wife. We had a long talk, and she's devastated. She is absolutely devastated, as you can imagine," he said. Erika married Charlie in May 2021; the pair had been together since 2018.
They welcomed two children during their marriage — a three-year-old daughter and a one-year-old son — whom Erika has frequently posted on her social media accounts. The family lived in Arizona, where Charlie's body has already been transported.
During a remembrance for MAGA politician, held at the Pentagon on Thursday afternoon, September 11, Trump announced he would posthumously award Charlie with the Presidential Medal of Freedom.
"Charlie was a giant of his generation, a champion of liberty, and an inspiration to millions and millions of people," the president said. "Our prayers are with his wonderful wife, Erika, and his beautiful children. Fantastic people they are."
"We miss him greatly, yet I have no doubt that Charlie's voice and the courage he put into the hearts of countless people, especially young people, will live on," he continued. The date of the ceremony is yet to be confirmed.
