Gabby Windey’s Lacey Gown at VMAs Sparks Mixed Reactions

The former "Bachelorette" star dazzled in a risqué black number at MTV's Video Music Awards. Her appearance comes several months after she revealed she had married her partner of more than two years.

Gabby Windey is not afraid to be daring. The reality TV star attended MTV's 2025 Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday evening, September 7. The prestigious musical event took place at the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY.

Windey turned heads in a striking black lace gown that featured sheer detailing throughout, giving the look a daring, see-through effect. The shimmering dress included dramatic cutouts along the sides that extended to the back.

The former "Bachelor" contestant opted for no accessories and wore her voluminous locks down with a sleek side part. Photos of her red carpet look quickly circulated online, but critics were swift to disapprove.

"There's sexy and there's then tacky 👎👎," one netizen wrote. "Heck she might has well not wear no cloths at all cause she is half naked anyways [sic]," another remarked.

Still, others came to her defense. "She looks divine but I'm sure it won't take long for the comments to fill with pearl clutchers trying to shame her…" one fan said.

Windey also served as social correspondent on the red carpet, speaking to girl group Katsye and Doja Cat, among others. Her VMAs appearance comes after she surprised fans earlier this year by announcing she had officially tied the knot with her partner, Robby Hoffman, in March.

The 34-year-old posted a series of wedding photos from their special day, captioning, "Husband and wife!! 1/11/2025 🥂💍." Windey and Hoffman had been together for more than two years by the time they married. The pair first met in the spring of 2023 and began their romance shortly afterward.
