Man Arrested in Connection with the Murder of 'American Idol' Executive Robin Kaye and Her Husband
The music supervisor and her husband, a musician, were reportedly found at their home after interrupting a burglary in progress.
A 22-year-old man identified as Raymond Boodarin has been apprehended in connection with the murder of "American Idol" executive Robin Kaye and her husband, Thomas Deluca.
The couple was fatally shot in their Encino home on July 14, 2025. Police responded to a possible burglary at the same address on July 10, 2025, but didn't identify any visible signs of forced entry.
According to the Los Angeles Police Department, Kaye and Deluca might have walked in on Boodarin, and an argument ensued, leading to the tragedy. The pair was found in separate rooms, and each had gunshot wounds to the head.
They were pronounced dead at the scene. As of this report, the authorities have classified the double homicide as a random act.
In the wake of the duo's deaths, "American Idol" has issued a statement, with the producers mourning their colleague Kaye. She served as the singing competition's music supervisor for over ten years.
"We are devastated to hear of Robin and her dear husband, Tom's, passing. Robin has been a cornerstone of the Idol family since 2009 and was truly loved and respected by all who came in contact with her," a representative shared.
"Robin will remain in our hearts forever, and we share our deepest sympathy with her family and friends during this difficult time," the rep concluded.
