'Supernanny' Star Jo Frost Reveals Life-Threatening Medical Diagnosis
The television personality disclosed that her condition can worsen to the point that it sometimes lands her in the hospital. That said, she is raising awareness about it.
British native Jo Frost took to her Instagram account on July 12, 2025, and revealed that she suffers from a medical condition that involves certain types of foods.
Frost, who found fame on the hit reality show, "Supernanny," explained her situation in a video, sharing, "I've suffered more anaphylactic shocks than I'm prepared to go into detail about right now." Frost added:
"I have anaphylaxis, a life-threatening medical condition to certain foods that will compromise my body so horrifically, to the point of hospitalization."
The Mayo Clinic describes anaphylaxis as "a severe, potentially life-threatening allergic reaction. It can occur within seconds or minutes of exposure to something you're allergic to."
The author explained that millions of people in her community around the world, including both children and adults, "live cautiously and anxiously navigating this journey." They don't receive the amount of compassion, education, and empathy from those who don't suffer from the same condition.
Therefore, the TV star is raising awareness about the condition. She noted that she is "unapologetic" about it and that it doesn't define who she is. "Will you champion for us? We need your compassion and empathy to understand more," the 55-year-old captioned her post.
