Country Singer Conner Smith Faces Misdemeanor Citation Following Fatal Car Crash
The recent charges against the 24-year-old come just over a month after the incident occurred. At the time, he released a statement breaking his silence about the tragedy.
Reports reveal that Connor Smith got off with a misdemeanor charge instead of a felony after a car accident in June 2025, in Nashville, Tennessee.
His lawyer, Worrick G. Robinson IV, shared the citation recently from the Metropolitan Nashville Police Department, adding:
"Conner is incredibly grateful to the MNPD for their time and efforts to carefully investigate this tragic accident and has continued to cooperate at all times."
The celebrity is charged with a misdemeanor traffic offense — failure to yield which resulted in a fatality. The incident happened as the truck the country singer drove hit a woman named Dorothy Dobbins at a crosswalk.
The 77-year-old was reportedly transported to the Vanderbilt Medical Center. However, she didn't make it. In the wake of the event, Connor spoke up through his attorney at the time.
"His heart goes out to Ms. Dobbins' family during this incredibly difficult time. Mr. Smith continues to cooperate fully with the ongoing investigation," Robinson shared at the time. According to reports, the celebrity didn't show any signs of impairment and was even let go right away at the scene.
