Quinta Brunson Opens up About Her Divorce Going Public

The "Abbott Elementary" alum addressed the dissolution of her marriage from her husband of three years during a recent interview, revealing that the news came out before she was ready.

Quinta Brunson is known to keep much of her personal life, particularly her relationship with her former husband, Kevin Anik, out of the spotlight. However, news of her divorce surfaced earlier this year after multiple outlets obtained documents related to her filing.

She opened up about the public spectacle during an interview that was published on Monday, June 30. "I remember seeing people be like, 'She announced her divorce.' I didn't announce anything," the actress told Bustle.

"I think people have this idea that people in the public eye want the public to know their every move. None of us do. I promise you," she said.

"No one wants [everyone] to know when you buy a house, when you move, when a major change happens in your personal life. It's just that that's public record information," she continued.

Brunson had married Anik in October 2021. Although she rarely shared anything about their relationship, she did subtly announce their engagement in July 2020. The TV star posted a selfie on Instagram flaunting her engagement ring.

"More good news," she wrote at the time. Her divorce isn't the only personal matter that made headlines. Last year, tabloids revealed she had bought a new house. "I hated that," she said of the unwarranted revelation. "I hate all of it."
