In what could become a powerful gesture of reconciliation, Prince Harry is preparing to invite his father, King Charles III, and brother, Prince William, to attend the 2027 Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Prince Harry, 40, is sending preliminary email invitations this month to senior members of the Royal Family, offering them the chance to join the Invictus Games, an international sporting event he founded in 2014, in July 2027.

Organizers believe early notification is vital, since King Charles reportedly plans his schedule up to three years in advance. The event is scheduled for July 12–17, 2027 at Birmingham's NEC, concluding on July 17, the day Queen Camilla will turn 80.

A source familiar with the matter said, "Harry has agreed that Invictus should extend an invitation to his family. Invictus hopes the Royal Family will come along to support the wounded veterans taking part. Harry is hopeful his father will set aside their differences to attend the Invictus Games and support veterans."

The 2027 Games will mark the first U.K. edition since the inaugural 2014 event, which was also attended by senior royals.

Royal commentators have offered mixed views on whether the invitation will be accepted. Some noted that King Charles may be open to the idea, while others pointed out ongoing trust issues stemming from past disclosures.

Security remains a major concern. Prince Harry has previously stated that Meghan, son Archie, 6, and daughter Lilibet, 4, would not accompany him to the U.K. unless full police protection is guaranteed.

While no formal invitations have been issued yet, Prince Harry's outreach may represent a significant step toward mending strained royal ties.
