The prestigious ceremony took place at Radio City Music Hall in New York City. As the evening began, host Cynthia Erivo welcomed guests and nominees.
The actress even mentioned some by name, as she said, "Featuring first-time nominees like Cole Escola, Sadie Sink—yes."
"Sadie Sink, Louie McCartney, and an up-and-comer that I think you're gonna be hearing a lot about: George Clooney," she continued, drawing laughs from the audience. "Good for you, George," she added.
George Clooney made his Broadway debut earlier this year with an adaptation of his 2005 film, "Good Night, and Good Luck." The production received five Tony nominations in total, with Clooney winning Best Lead Actor in a Play.

The play opened on March 12, 2025, and held its final performance on Sunday, just before the Tony Awards. Its penultimate show ran on Saturday, June 7, marking the first time a Broadway production was broadcast on live television.
Clooney spoke about the experience on the red carpet ahead of the ceremony, revealing that he and his team had three weeks to prepare. The film star said they were excited to broadcast the performance, though he admitted it was "nerve-wracking."
