Princess Catherine Attends First Buckingham Palace Garden Party Since 2023 with Prince William

The Prince and Princess of Wales, joined by several of Prince William’s royal relatives, welcomed approximately 7,500 guests to the Buckingham Palace Garden Party.

Prince William and Princess Catherine were in high spirits as they hosted a Buckingham Palace Garden Party on Tuesday, May 20, 2025, on behalf of King Charles III.

The royal couple was joined by several members of the extended royal family, including Princess Eugenie, Zara Tindall, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, and the Duke and Duchess of Gloucester.

This marked Princess Catherine's first appearance at a royal garden party since 2023. She had been undergoing chemotherapy throughout 2024 following a health diagnosis that led to a temporary withdrawal from public duties.

Princess Catherine appeared radiant in a soft yellow ensemble and was seen warmly engaging with guests across the palace grounds, offering smiles and conversation throughout the day.

Among the invited guests were Holocaust survivor Steven Frank, Vicky Robayna, and her stepfather, Aaron Robayna Thompson, as well as the family of the late teenage photographer Liz Hatton.

Garden parties at Buckingham Palace are a longstanding royal tradition, offering recognition to individuals from various communities for their public service and contributions to society.

King Charles and Queen Camilla recently hosted their own Buckingham Palace garden party last May 14, 2025, where the monarch spoke with a young man battling cancer. King Charles generously gave advice, as he battles his own cancer diagnosis.
