King Charles Shares Brief Insight into His Cancer Journey During Conversation with Student Battling the Illness

In another public appearance since his diagnosis, King Charles III offered words of support to cancer patient during a heartfelt moment at Buckingham Palace.

King Charles made a public appearance at a Buckingham Palace garden party on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, even as he continues to undergo treatment for an undisclosed form of cancer.

At the event, held in honor of individuals working in the education and skills sector, the King met 22-year-old Stamford Collis, a student at Exeter University who is also battling cancer.

Following their conversation, Collis shared details of the exchange. "He was asking me about the treatment I have starting in June, and spoke to me about food and diet," Collis said. "He also asked me if I had undergone radiation treatment, which I had earlier this year."

King Charles was also overheard offering encouragement and advice during their conversation. "It's sometimes about the diet and what you eat. It can help," he told the student.

Throughout the day, the King and Queen greeted and shook hands with hundreds of guests, continuing their commitment to public engagements despite King Charles' ongoing health battle.

The monarchs have appeared at multiple public events in recent days, signaling a busy period for the royal household. As a result, reaching out to his estranged son, Prince Harry, has not been a priority for King Charles amid their ongoing rift.
