Denise Alexander, Longtime Star of 'General Hospital' and 'Days of Our Lives', Dies at 85

On May 10, 2025, "General Hospital" executive producer Frank Valentini took to social media to share the news of actress Denise Alexander's passing at the age of 85.

Frank Valentini, "General Hospital" executive producer, announced veteran actress Denise Alexander's death on both Instagram and Twitter, sharing his heartfelt sympathies to the late actress' family, friends, and fans.

"I am so very sorry to hear of Denise Alexander’s passing. She broke barriers on-screen and off, portraying Dr. Lesley Webber — one of the first female doctors on daytime television — for nearly five decades," he wrote.

He went on to emphasize Alexander’s importance to the "General Hospital" family, adding: "It meant so much to have her reprise her role in recent years, and I am honored to have had the opportunity to work with her. On behalf of the entire General Hospital family, I extend my heartfelt sympathies to her family, friends, and longtime fans. May she rest in peace."

A further report revealed that while her death was announced on May 10, 2025, Alexander actually died earlier this year, on March 5, 2025.

On Instagram, the official "General Hospital" page shared a carousel of photos of Alexander through the years to pay tribute to the late actress.

Alexander portrayed Susan Hunter Martin on "Days of Our Lives" for seven years, from 1966 to 1973. She then played Dr. Lesley Webber on "General Hospital" for decades. Her last appearance on the show was in 2021.
