Fans React to Seeing Adam Lambert's Boyfriend, Oliver Gliese, After the Couple's Recent Public Outing: 'Looks Like a Girl'

The "American Idol" runner-up, who has since established a successful music career, was all smiles as he posed alongside his longtime boyfriend at a recent event.

Singer and songwriter Adam Lambert was pictured at a Charlie XCX concert with his boyfriend Oliver Gliese on May 5, 2025, in Brooklyn, New York.

The happy couple, who often shared photos of each other online, stood side-by-side as they posed for pictures together and even displayed public affection by holding hands. However, fans were left flustered about Gliese's appearance which sparked conversation.

While some fans confused him for dancer JoJo Siwa and actress Shailene Woodley, others were more blunt, stating that Gliese looks more like a "female friend."

"I was thinking the same, boyfriend looks like a girl," commented one person. Another echoed, "Boyfriend? Thought [sic] it was a girl." Meanwhile, another asked, "is his boyfriend a teenager????[sic]." "Geeez he looks like an underage female! What is going on here!" wrote someone else.

While it remains unclear when Lambert and Gliese, a Denmark native, started dating, reports reveal that the duo made their relationship public in February 2021. The "American Idol" runner-up only dished on their romance in May of that year on social media.
