BTS has made a powerful return with their newest album, "ARIRANG," which has already set multiple records on Spotify. The project became the most-streamed album in a single day in 2026 and also set a new benchmark as the most-streamed K-pop album in the platform’s history.
Released worldwide on Friday, March 20, 2026, "ARIRANG" generated strong anticipation even before its debut.

Strong Pre-Release Momentum
Ahead of its release, Spotify reported that "ARIRANG" was one of the most pre-saved albums on its Countdown Pages, with more than five million pre-saves. This early figure reflected the group’s enduring global appeal and the high expectations surrounding their comeback.

A Long-Awaited Return
"ARIRANG" marks BTS’s first full-length album since "Be," which was released in 2020 and debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200 chart.
That same year, the group topped the Billboard Hot 100 with “Life Goes On” and “Dynamite.” They later returned to the top spot with “Butter,” “Permission to Dance,” and “My Universe,” their collaboration with Coldplay.
At the height of their global success, the members began their mandatory military service, which is required for all able-bodied South Korean men. During that period, the group released solo projects on a staggered schedule before reuniting for their March 2026 comeback.

Streaming and Broadcast Success
Beyond Spotify, BTS also made an impact through a live concert special streamed on Netflix. The broadcast drew 18.4 million viewers during its initial livestream and within the following day.
Filmed at Gwanghwamun Square in Seoul, South Korea, the special reached number 1 in 24 countries. On Netflix’s global Top 10, it ranked as the most-watched non-English TV title and the third most-watched title overall.
The reported viewing window did not account for the full 24-hour period in which it reached 18.4 million viewers, leaving out approximately five million additional views.
