Her family shared the news on December 11 in a heartbreaking Instagram post, writing, “You are the miracle! Your purpose on earth was fulfilled, and it was the most sacred privilege to escort you home.”
Brie and her family gained over 650,000 followers (one million as of this writing) by documenting her life, her treatments, and moments of joy during her fight against cancer. Her story reached and inspired people across the world.
Family Shares Emotional Tribute
In the Instagram post announcing her passing, Brie's family shared their deep love and continued devotion: “You brought people to Christ, you showed the world that God is good, and your light shined to all corners of the earth. We love you for eternity!”
They added, “We will look for you in all the details, especially the dragonfly’s. We will never stop sharing your story. Please come visit us often. Your bedroom door is always open, and we’ll leave the playroom light on.”
The post ends with words that reflect both sorrow and pride: “You did it Brielle, you did everything with grace! I can only imagine the incredible reunion, and I’m so jealous; but I know you ran straight to Jesus. 😭 Thank you for being an inspiration to so many.”
Diagnosed at Age 4
Brie was diagnosed with stage 4 neuroblastoma in 2020. At the time, doctors found an 8-centimeter tumor in her abdomen, and the cancer had already spread to her back, her mother Kendra explained in a previous Instagram update.
In 2022, Brie entered remission, and her family celebrated the milestone publicly. But in January 2024, the cancer returned. “I hope you never have to tell your child that the cancer is back,” Kendra wrote at the time.
Entering Hospice and Making Her Own Decisions
In July 2025, Kendra announced that Brie had entered hospice care. She shared a moment that showed Brie’s strength and maturity.
One day, Brie asked if she could skip a hospital visit. “Is it okay if I say no this time? I just want to be home, I don’t feel good when I am there, but I’m scared not to go too,” she said.
Kendra supported her decision: “I called the hospital and told them we decided not to come this week. We want to respect her decision, give her the chance to speak up for herself, and with no promise that it’ll work anyway, I can’t force her to be miserable.”
A Surprise from Ariana Grande
In August, Brie received a care package from one of her favorite celebrities, Ariana Grande. The gifts included Squishmallows, nail polish, perfume, and items inspired by the movie "Wicked," where Grande plays Glinda.
“Thank you so, so, so, so much, Ariana Grande. I love everything in the package that you got, especially the Squishmallows and everything else,” Brie said in a video.
It ended with a personal message from the singer: “I’ve seen your videos and I think you are the most amazing, most inspiring little light beam in this universe.”
Remembering Brie
Brie’s family says they will continue to share her story and keep her memory alive. Her journey was followed by hundreds of thousands, not just because of the challenges she faced, but because of the way she faced them—with honesty, faith, and love.
“You did it, Brielle,” her family wrote. “You did everything with grace.”
