Michelle Yeoh Shares a Surprise Detail Fans Won't Expect in 'Wicked: For Good'
Michelle Yeoh is teasing exciting surprises in the highly anticipated sequel "Wicked: For Good," hinting that audiences may hear something entirely new when the film hits theaters later this year.
Michelle Yeoh, 63, who plays Madame Morrible in the two-part "Wicked" film adaptation, recently teased new details about the second installment during an exclusive conversation with PEOPLE.
The Oscar-winning actress revealed that audiences may be treated to more than just the familiar Broadway soundtrack. "I think you're getting some new songs," Yeoh said of "Wicked: For Good," before jokingly adding, "I didn't say that."
The new music comes from Stephen Schwartz, the Tony and Grammy-winning composer and lyricist who created the score for the original stage production. His fresh contributions are expected to complement fan-favorite numbers like "Defying Gravity" and "For Good," ensuring continuity between stage and screen.
Yeoh also noted that she and her fellow cast members have stayed in touch even after filming wrapped, highlighting the camaraderie formed on set.
Outside of "Wicked," Yeoh is also promoting her lead voice role in the English-language adaptation of the Chinese blockbuster "Ne Zha 2," further showcasing the breadth of her current projects.
The "Wicked" films, directed by Jon M. Chu, reimagine Gregory Maguire's novel and the Broadway sensation that debuted in 2003. The story explores the unlikely friendship between Elphaba, the future Wicked Witch of the West, and Glinda the Good Witch.
"Wicked: Part One" debuted in November 2024, while "Wicked: For Good" is slated for release on November 21, 2025.
