Pamela Anderson’s Bold Cover Photo Signals New Era
Pamela Anderson ditches makeup and expectations on the cover of People magazine, signaling more than just a new look. From unexpected roles to a quiet romance with Liam Neeson, the actress is rewriting her story — and this time, she's in control.
Pamela Anderson is back in the spotlight — this time, on her own terms. Appearing barefaced and red-haired on the cover of People magazine, Anderson is showing the world a very different side of herself.
“I’m ready for action,” she tells the magazine, in a feature that highlights a year full of personal and professional transformation.
A Different Kind of Cover Star
Shared by both People and Anderson on Instagram, the cover sparked support from fans and family — including her son Brandon Thomas Lee, who commented, “Love this! So proud of you 🙌 what an incredible year it’s been!”
The stripped-down image is more than just a fashion statement. It’s part of a broader shift Anderson began last year, when she surprised everyone by attending Paris Fashion Week without makeup.
“I remember thinking, ‘Nobody’s even going to notice’ — and people noticed,” she said. “Carine Roitfeld came up to me. She said, ‘I like what you’re doing.’ And I was like, ‘What am I doing?’”
Stepping Into New Roles
At 58, Anderson is in the middle of what she calls a “career renaissance.” Over the past year, she’s taken on unexpected roles, from "The Last Showgirl" to the box office hit "The Naked Gun," and now a comedy called "Love Is Not the Answer," directed by Michael Cera.
She dyed her hair red for the new film, a change she admits still surprises her when she looks in the mirror. “Sometimes I catch myself in the mirror and go, ‘Oh jeez. Who’s that?’” she shared. “I’ll be blonde in no time or maybe a different color. Who knows?”.

Her performance in "The Last Showgirl" earned her critical acclaim and her first nominations for a Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award. “I’d never been offered a good script,” she confessed. “To feel that feeling of ‘I’m the only one that could do this’ — I had that.”
Rewriting Her Story
Much of Anderson’s momentum began in 2023, with the release of her memoir "Love, Pamela" and the Netflix documentary "Pamela, A Love Story." In both, she opened up about her past, her struggles, and her desire to be seen beyond her public image. “Some things you move on from,” she said.
Now, she’s focused on sharing her real self, whether through her makeup-free look, her skincare line Sonsie, or her weekly Substack, "The Open Journal":
“I just want to make sure that [young women] feel confident in who they are … and to not worry so much. Believe me, it’s a practice.”
Clearing the Air
The People cover story also addresses the much-talked-about rumors around her and "Naked Gun" co-star Liam Neeson. She confirmed that they were “romantically involved for a short while but only after we finished filming.”
They spent a week together at his home in upstate New York, a time she calls their “lost week.” She shared, “We went to dinner at a tiny French restaurant where he introduced me as the ‘future Mrs. Neeson.’” But now, she says they’re just friends. “I adore Liam, but we are better friends, in full honesty.”
What’s Next
Anderson has launched a production company with her sons and is working on a reboot of her 1996 film "Barb Wire" as a TV series. She’s also set to appear in "Rosebush Pruning" alongside Elle Fanning and Callum Turner, playing a gray-haired mom in a dysfunctional family.
With new roles, new hair, and a new outlook, Anderson is embracing this next phase. “Let’s just hope this is just the beginning,” she said. “It’s a rebel move to be happy.”
