Dispute Centers on Accountability
In a court filing dated April 6, 2026, Paris, 28, argued that estate executors John Branca and John McClain have repeatedly avoided addressing the substance of her concerns. Instead, she claims they have portrayed her objections as attention-seeking or driven by her legal team, aiming to "mock and belittle" her.
Her filing describes the situation as excessive litigation and says the process has taken a personal toll. It states, “This litigation is painful for Paris. It is a distraction from her own life and her own career.”
Paris is one of three beneficiaries of the estate, alongside her brothers Prince and Bigi. The dispute focuses on how and when the estate provides annual financial accounting. Paris has pushed for a clearer and more transparent process, while alleging that the executors have failed to provide sufficient visibility into financial decisions.

Claims of Personal Attacks
A key element of Paris's filing is her claim that the executors have used both court filings and media coverage to diminish her credibility. She alleges that estate funds have been used to support these efforts.
“From the first day Paris dared to raise an objection, Executors have used her father’s money to attack her in the media,” the filing states.
The document also points to language used by the executors’ legal team that Paris describes as dismissive and inappropriate. She argues that these characterizations are meant to pressure her into backing down rather than engage with the legal issues she has raised.

Estate Rejects Allegations
The executors, through their attorney Jonathan Steinsapir, denied the claims and pushed back strongly against Paris's narrative. He argued that her legal team is misrepresenting facts and using the dispute to shift attention away from weaknesses in their case.
“Paris and her attorneys are once again abusing the courts and the legal system by making a series of false allegations as part of a media campaign to distract from their legal setbacks,” he said.
Steinsapir also maintained that many of Paris's concerns had already been addressed in prior proceedings and approved through proper legal channels. He emphasized that the estate has operated within the bounds of the law and court oversight.

Long-standing Financial Tensions
The conflict reflects broader disagreements over how Michael's estate has been managed since his death in 2009. At the time, the estate faced more than $500 million in debt. The executors have since said they transformed it into a profitable enterprise.
Paris, however, has questioned how funds have been distributed. She has previously alleged that the executors received substantial compensation over the years, including millions annually and more than $148 million in total since 2009.
The executors have consistently denied any misconduct and have defended their compensation as appropriate given the estate’s financial turnaround.

Concerns over Major Projects
Paris's objections also extend to spending decisions tied to large-scale projects, including the upcoming Michael Jackson biopic. She has raised concerns about production choices and the financial risks involved.
In court filings, she questioned whether certain decisions, including casting and reported reshoots, would deliver returns that justify their cost. She also suggested that production challenges may have led to significant additional spending.
These concerns form part of her broader argument that the estate has invested in ventures that carry unnecessary financial risk.

A Dispute with No Clear End
Paris's filing indicates that she initially sought cooperation with the executors to establish a clearer framework for payments and accounting. However, she claims those efforts were unsuccessful, leading to the current legal standoff.
The executors, for their part, continue to defend their record and argue that Paris's claims lack merit.
Paris Jackson’s latest filing highlights a deepening divide over the management of Michael Jackson’s estate. What began as a disagreement over accounting practices has grown into a broader conflict involving transparency, financial decisions, and personal conduct.
As both sides stand firm, the case underscores the challenges of managing one of the most valuable estates in the entertainment industry.
