Nicole Kidman Hinted at Keith Urban Split During Vogue Interview Weeks Before Announcement

During a recent interview, the "Big Little Lies" actress seemed to have given a subtle clue about her separation from the country musician.

On October 8, 2025, Vogue published its November cover story featuring Nicole Kidman. While the conversation with reporter Wendell Steavenson focused on many different topics, the star's answer to a question about her age may have been a hint regarding her split from Keith Urban.

Kidman spoke about the upcoming "Practical Magic" sequel and why she works hard at her job. She also detailed her passion for making big-budget and independent films, as well as how fashion can become her "armor."

At one point, Steavenson explained that she had "guessed" something had happened between her and Urban, but didn't want to be rude. Instead, she asked the actress about her feelings on being in her 50s. The answer was rather intriguing.

"How many times do you have to be taught that you think you know where your life is going and then it isn't going in that direction?" Kidman replied in a rueful tone.

Luckily, she also has a great circle of girlfriends in Nashville, including Reese Witherspoon, who lives nearby. But she is also close to a senior oncologist at Vanderbilt Hospital and has a friend running a hospital. Those are her "ride-or-die friendships."

Nicole Kidman and Urban's separation was confirmed on September 29. According to a source, her sister was supporting her through this time, as the actress didn't want her marriage to end.
