Nicole Kidman Indicates What Led to Split from Keith Urban
Nicole Kidman's recent divorce filing has offered a glimpse into what may have led to the end of her nearly 20-year marriage to Keith Urban.
Nicole Kidman has initiated divorce proceedings to end her marriage to Keith Urban, nearly two decades after they wed. The filing comes just a day after the news of their separation broke.
Court documents obtained by Fox News Digital show that the actress, 58, cited "irreconcilable differences" and referred to "marital difficulties" as the reason for ending the relationship. She listed Sept. 30 as the official date of separation.
Kidman requested to be named the primary residential parent of the couple's two daughters. She also asked the court to grant an "absolute divorce" at the final hearing. The actress first met Urban in 2005 at an event in Australia, and they married the following year in Sydney.

The filing comes less than two years after Keith Urban, in a 2023 interview, reflected on their life together. At the time, he said that despite the challenges of their careers, family always came first.
News of the split quickly prompted reactions from fans. "Somethings up… Team Nic Always ❤️," one wrote. Another described the development as "really sad." A third added, "They are great together — I pray they can work it out."
