Yolanda Hadid Opens up About Watching Daughter Bella ‘Struggle in Silence’

The TV personality shared photos from her daughter's most recent hospital stay amid her battle with Lyme disease. The pair were both diagnosed with the condition in 2012 and 2013, respectively.

Yolanda Hadid got vulnerable in a candid post on Thursday, September 18, about her and her daughter Bella Hadid's ongoing fight with Lyme disease. The Dutch former model shared several heartbreaking photos from their most recent hospital stay.

The first frame showed her gently embracing Bella and planting a kiss on her cheek while she lay on her hospital bed. "As you will understand watching my Bella struggle in silence, has cut the deepest core of hopelessness inside me," Yolanda began.

She continued, "The invisible disability of chronic neurological Lyme disease is hard to explain or understand for anyone. I try to lead by example on our Lyme journey but my own pain cannot compare to watching my baby suffer."

The mother of three — who shares Bella, her sister Gigi, and her brother Anwar with her ex-husband Mohamed Hadid — explained that she decided to stop sharing her own story after a few years to focus on her health.

"I needed an energetic shift, time to focus on my healing rather than absorb other people's opinions about my journey. Even so, I am the CEO of my health and after fifteen years of searching the globe, I am still determined to find a cure affordable for all," she said.

Yolanda added that she hopes to share what she and Bella have learned about Lyme disease "as soon as lab results reflect our victory." She then dedicated a heartfelt message to Bella, affectionately referring to her as "my beautiful Bellita."

"I am so proud of the fighter that you are. You are not alone, I promise to have your back every step of the way, no matter how long this takes," the 61-year-old wrote. Her post came just one day after Bella shared her own update on Instagram.
