Bella Hadid Shares Photos from the Hospital amid Her Battle with Lyme Disease

The 28-year-old supermodel, who was diagnosed with the condition at age 16, recently shared a troubling health update, simultaneously sparking concern and support from fans.

On Wednesday, September 17, Bella Hadid took to Instagram to share a life update after a brief hiatus from social media. The model posted a lengthy Instagram carousel chronicling her recent bout with Lyme disease.

The carousel featured several photos she took from her hospital room. In one side-profile selfie, Bella covers her mouth in distress, revealing multiple tubes attached to her neck, with one secured to her hair with a clip.

In another photo, she appears to be flushed with a bundled sheet placed on top of her head. She also shared a picture of herself holding up a peace sign while lying in a hospital bed, wearing a breathing mask with an IV drip hooked to her arm.

"I'm sorry I always go MIA I love you guys," she wrote in her caption. Her mother, Yolanda Hadid, responded in the comments, "❤️Lyme warrior." Her sister, Gigi Hadid, also left a heartfelt message. "I love you! I hope feel as strong and good as u deserve, soon!!!!!!" Gigi said.

Fans also flooded the comments with well wishes for the Orebella founder. "Take care and heal, the world is waiting for Miss Bella Hadid always. Stay strong ❤️," one person said. "Feel better angel come back stronger 💖," added another.

Bella didn't specify why she was hospitalized, but she has long been open about her battle with Lyme disease and its impact on her life since her diagnosis in 2013. In 2023, she shared a similar set of hospital photos after another stay.

"Living in this state, worsening with time and work while trying to make myself, my family and the people who support me, proud, had taken a toll on me in ways I can't really explain," she wrote at the time.

"To be that sad and sick with the most blessings/privilege/opportunity/love around me was quite possibly the most confusing thing ever," she added.
