Mariska Hargitay Dazzles in Velvet Gown at the 2025 Primetime Emmys

The "Law & Order: SVU" alum channeled old Hollywood glamour in her red carpet appearance before reuniting with her co-stars on the Emmys stage.

Mariska Hargitay attended the 77th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday evening, September 14. The coveted annual ceremony took place at the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, where the longtime actress stepped out in style.

For the red carpet, she opted for a dramatic, strapless burgundy velvet gown with a sweeping train. She paired the dress with statement drop earrings and rings, keeping accessories refined so the gown remained the focal point.

Her softly styled hair and natural, glowing makeup completed the glamorous ensemble. Hargitay later joined her "Law & Order: SVU" co-stars during the ceremony, including her longtime friend Christopher Meloni, Ice-T, and Tony Goldwyn.

Earlier in the evening, Meloni posted selfies sitting with the cast members in the audience on his Instagram page. "Hanging with friends at @televisionacad @sophiaemeloni @therealmariskahargitay @icet," he wrote.

They all reunited again with S. Epatha Merkerson onstage, where they presented the Emmy for Outstanding Drama Series. Contenders included "The Last of Us" and "Severance," but the award ultimately went to Apple TV+'s "The Pitt."

The group also honored the "Law & Order" franchise for 35 years on air in a stage set identical to theirs on "SVU," while they all poked fun at Hargitay's character, the formidable Olivia Benson.
