Ricky Martin Melts Social Media with His VMAs Red Carpet Look

The Puerto Rican singer flaunted his age-defying physique in a chest-baring ensemble that set tongues wagging. He was also one of three special honorees at the awards ceremony.

Ricky Martin stepped out at MTV's 2025 Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday evening, September 7. The prestigious affair was held at the UBS Arena in Elmont, NY, where Martin arrived in style.

The singer-songwriter looked suave in a loose, pale aqua button-down shirt left mostly unbuttoned to showcase layered necklaces and his chest tattoo. The shirt was tucked into high-waisted, wide-leg black trousers that added structure and balance to the flowy top.

He finished the look with sleek black dress shoes, and a neatly groomed beard to complement his haircut. Photos and clips of the 53-year-old's red carpet look have since gone viral and fans can't help but swoon over his age-defying appearance.

"That man is almost 54?!😳" one astonished Facebooker asked. "Was he frozen and came back in 2025 the same lol," another joked.

"Ricky Martin's just going to be gorgeous his entire life😝," a third cheekily declared. "Aging like some fine azz wine!😍🔥," another fan added.

Later, Martin hit the stage for an electrifying performance of his biggest hits, including "Livin La Vida Loca" and "Shake Your Bon-Bon." For his set, he swapped his shirt for a black sleeveless knit top and accessorized with a bedazzled silk bandana around his neck (which he later flung off).

Afterward, he was presented with the first ever Latin Icon Award, recognizing him as one of the musicians who paved the way for other Latin artists to cross over, as well as for his enduring contributions to the Latin music scene.

"Thank you so much because it's been 40 years — I started when I was a baby and we're still here," he told the cheering audience during his acceptance speech. "We just want to unite countries. We just want to break boundaries and we just want to keep music alive."

Other special honorees included Mariah Carey, who received the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award, and Busta Rhymes, who was presented with the Rock the Bells Visionary Award.
