New Details Emerge in Domestic Violence Case Against Jack Nicholson’s Grandson
The 29-year-old, whose mother called the police on him, was arrested last week for physically assaulting a woman and was released the same day. The victim's identity has since been revealed.
Jack Nicholson's eldest grandson, Sean Knight Nicholson, was arrested on a felony domestic violence charge on Tuesday, August 5. The producer allegedly attacked a woman in Los Angeles.
At the time, the woman was unknown, but she has since been identified as his ex-girlfriend, Elizabeth Lawlor. PEOPLE obtained arrest records and a police report detailing the encounter, which occurred a few weeks prior to Sean's arrest.
The report, a summary of Elizabeth's statements, reveals that she and Sean have been in a tumultuous on-and-off relationship since April 2023, and this latest domestic violence allegation is one of many.
On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 23, Elizabeth met with Sean after he had reached out to her following a short stay in rehab. Sean, a recovering addict reportedly diagnosed with schizophrenia, allegedly wanted to talk through what he described as a difficult period in his life.
At this point, he and Elizabeth had not seen each other or spoken since last year. Per the police report, Sean had texted Elizabeth, claiming he had taken a full bottle of Valium and would end his own life if she didn't come and see him.
Alarmed by the threat and concerned for his well-being, Elizabeth went to his apartment in Venice, California. However, what began as a calm conversation soon turned into an intense argument about infidelity.
As the situation escalated, Sean reportedly grabbed Elizabeth's neck and threw her into an unidentified hard object, knocking her unconscious. "Victim stated that she blacked out and when she opened her eyes realized her tooth had broken," the report stated.
Elizabeth then fled the apartment and was found by a security guard. Shortly after, Sean located her and took her back upstairs. According to a source who spoke to PEOPLE, Elizabeth later sent photos of her injuries to Sean's mother, Jennifer Nicholson, who then called 911.
Two police officers arrived on the scene and took photographs. Elizabeth reported pain in her head and mouth and was soon transported to Marina Del Rey Hospital. She was treated for a chipped front tooth requiring surgery, sustained facial injuries, and received stitches.
Sean was arrested on a felony charge of "corporal injury on a spouse or cohabitant" and booked for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon on August 5. He was released that same day on a $50,000 bond, and is expected to appear in court on August 26.
Two weeks after the assault, Elizabeth also filed for a restraining order from Sean, which was temporarily granted on Monday, August 11. She's expected to appear for a court hearing on September 2 in Santa Monica.
