The "Emilia Perez" star added some nostalgic detail, saying, "I was about 15, she was about 18 and that's when it was the crazy curly Taylor, and she had all these bracelets that went all the way up. … It was really sweet."
Now, Gomez says the two friends often reflect on that chapter of their lives fondly. "We like to say the best things [we] got out of those relationships was each other," she revealed.

Both couples ended their relationships in 2008, with Gomez and Nick Jonas parting ways again in 2010. Despite the breakups, Gomez clarified that there's still mutual respect between them all. "We all know and love each other," the songstress admitted.
Gomez also emphasized how their friendship solidified during those emotional teenage years. "At that age, we became best friends [and] bonded over the breakup," she said. "As girls do."
"Then, I don't know, we just stuck around for all the ups and downs that came after," Gomez continued. "And here we are now 16 years later."
Swift is believed by many to have written her hit 2008 song "Love Story" about her relationship with Joe Jonas. Gomez revealed that she had the chance to hear the track before it was officially released.
"I was in a hotel room, and I remember it vividly," she shared. "I instantly heard it and thought, 'This is one of the most beautiful songs ever.'"
Before playing the track for Gomez, Swift gave a modest introduction. "Okay, I just want to play you this song," she told her friend. "But just, like, I don't know. It's going to be the first single, I think. I think."
