January Jones Makes Rare Red Carpet Appearance with 13-Year-Old Son

January Jones kept most eyes on her during a weekend gala — but it was her plus one, her rarely seen son, who added a quiet surprise to the red carpet.

January Jones made a rare public appearance with her teenage son, Xander Dane Jones, at an event in Southern California over the weekend. The "Mad Men" actress attended Oceana’s 18th Annual SeaChange Summer Party in Laguna Beach on Saturday, July 26.

It marked one of the few times the South Dakota native has stepped onto the red carpet with her 13-year-old son. The 47-year-old dressed to impress in a black midi dress paired with matching heels. She completed her look with gold hoop earrings, a black headband, and styled her blonde hair in loose waves.

January's son Xander, dressed in a coordinated off-white outfit with black Adidas sneakers, stood beside her as they stepped for photos on the red carpet. Though she's spoken publicly about parenting, January has kept Xander's personal life largely private.

January decided not to disclose the identity of her son's father. Speaking to The New York Times in 2013, the actress said the matter was private and not something she needed to share publicly.

In a 2017 interview, January explained that her son is surrounded by positive male role models, such as her father and family friends. She also emphasized the importance of boys growing up with strong women, noting that it helps instill respect for women from an early age.
