Rapper Mack Maine Announces Son's Death: 'Still Confused'

The record executive shared a moving tribute to his child on social media, expressing the depth of his pain over the devastating loss. He also lost his father two years ago.

Mack Maine announced the passing of his son, Isaiah William, on July 28, 2005, on Instagram. He penned a lengthy statement, sharing that it took a lot of strength for him to post the news online.

"On July 16th I received a call that my son Isaiah (Zeke) passed away at his home in California from a seizure. I'm still in shock and still processing the fact that he's gone. Still confused, still questioning life and why my child and not me," Maine wrote alongside a carousel of him and his child.

He thanked the 20-year-old for making him a father, adding, "The experience and bond with you and I brought me purpose… YOU were my biggest inspiration and motivation.."

Additionally, Maine shared that the community has been reeling from William's untimely passing, while also describing what he has been feeling during this difficult time:

"This is a pain I've personally never felt before."

Maine, who currently serves as the Young Money president, mentioned that he was announcing the sad news on the day of his own birthday. His father also passed away two years ago on the same day.
