Miley Cyrus Opens up About Her Choice Not to Tour After Dropping New Album
The "Wrecking Ball" hitmaker spoke candidly about the pressure artists face while on the road and also addressed her critically acclaimed visual album.
Miley Cyrus revealed she will not go on tour soon in an interview with "Good Morning America" on July 15, 2025. This is even though she is physically able and has the opportunity to do so.
"I wish I had the desire, but I don't. I also don't think that there is actually an infrastructure that supports artists," said the singer-songwriter.
Cyrus referenced late artists like Prince, who led a "high intensity lifestyle" while touring, adding that it's challenging to remain sober on the road. For the star, sobriety is an important pillar of stability in her life. She also noted that maintaining mental wellness is a hard thing to do.
Apart from the downsides of touring, Cyrus also discussed her newly released album "Something Beautiful." The critically acclaimed visual album showcases her talents as she appears as a showgirl, a '60s European film star, and more.
"These kind of nuances were important for me, creating something that I feel is really modern and very now. But again, it's really honoring ... these kind of, like, you know, iconic women in film and in music," she said in a separate interview, adding she is "proud of the outcome."
