Cher, 79, Recreates Her Most Iconic Music Video Look at Dolce & Gabbana Event
At 79, Cher didn't just perform – she proved that style has no expiration date, channeling her most legendary fashion moment at Dolce & Gabbana's Alta Moda showcase in Rome.
Cher took the stage on July 12, 2025, for the opening night of Dolce & Gabbana's multi-day Alta Moda celebration in Rome, reviving one of her most recognizable – and provocative – looks from decades past.

The pop icon paid tribute to her daring Bob Mackie-designed ensemble from the 1989 music video "If I Could Turn Back Time." The original outfit, a sheer bodysuit with a thin strip of opaque black fabric, famously showcased her tattooed backside and sparked controversy upon its debut.

That night, Cher once again defied age and expectations, performing in a strikingly similar getup: a sparkling, crystal-encrusted bodysuit with mesh cutouts, paired with thigh-high black boots. She layered the outfit with a dramatic oversized leather jacket and cinched it at the waist with a bold belt.

Throughout the weekend, the legendary performer leaned into other fashion callbacks as well. During her set, she appeared to channel the platinum blonde hairstyle from her 2001 "Song for the Lonely music video," stepping onto the stage in a striking blond wig. That look was matched with a dark green jumpsuit and a rhinestone-studded corset, both pieces courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana.
Decades into her career, Cher continues to own the stage and rock the looks that she wore when she was much younger. Dolce & Gabbana's recent showcase is a testament to her enduring talent and timeless looks.
