Kansas City Chiefs' Star Patrick Mahomes on the Best Tip He Got from Tom Brady
Patrick Mahomes is crediting NFL icon Tom Brady with a piece of advice that continues to shape both his performance and leadership in the prestigious league.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes recently opened up about one of the most impactful pieces of guidance he's received from seven-time Super Bowl champion Tom Brady.
"He always talks about being yourself," Mahomes said during the July 7, 2025 episode of "Up & Adams." "He thinks that, and which I truly believe it too, guys can spot when you are not authentic and not putting in the work. That is something he did every single day. That is why guys respected him so much."
Mahomes emphasized how Brady's message about authenticity resonated with him, and how he's applied it throughout his career.
"That's all I am going to do for the rest of my career and I felt like I have done so far," Mahomes shared. "I am always myself no matter if you like me or don't like me, you know. I am giving everything I can to win the football games."
Beyond staying true to himself, Mahomes, 29, credited his love for the game as a central reason for his continued success with the Chiefs. The reigning Super Bowl MVP shares three children, Sterling, 4; Bronze, 2; and Golden, 6 months, with his wife, Brittany Mahomes, and says maintaining joy in the sport helps him stay grounded.
"It has always been fun playing for the Kansas City Chiefs. That is what makes it special," he said. "I feel like last year, I don't want to say it was pressure, but guys wanted to go out there and win every single week and not for the fun of the game just 'cause we were supposed to."
Mahomes, a three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time league MVP, continues to lead the Chiefs into what many hope will be another historic NFL season.
