With his long-running divorce from Angelina Jolie finally settled, Brad Pitt is reflecting on his past, acknowledging his mistakes, and working toward healing, even as his relationships with his children remain strained.
Brad Pitt, 61, is moving forward after the December 2024 finalization of his divorce from Angelina Jolie, nearly eight years after she initially filed in 2016.

Though the legal battle is behind him, a source told Us Weekly that the journey left emotional scars, particularly in his family life.
"The divorce is something that had been controlling his life for so many years," the insider said. "He loved her and he knows he made mistakes."

Pitt and Jolie began dating in 2004 and married in 2014. The separation, marked by years of custody disputes and public scrutiny, created a tense environment that the insider described as a "divisive, toxic situation."
The former couple shares six children: Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Vivienne and Knox. According to the source, the prolonged legal drama took a toll on Pitt's relationships with his children.

"It turned the kids against him as well," the insider said, though noting that Pitt "doesn't blame [Jolie] for everything."
The "Once Upon a Time in Hollywood" actor has reportedly found stability through sobriety, which the insider shared has played a pivotal role in his personal growth. "Ever since he stopped drinking, everything has changed."

Pitt, who has been in a relationship with jewelry executive Ines de Ramon since 2022, is hopeful for the future, though reconciliation with his children remains uncertain.
