
Mixed Reactions as 'American Idol' Alum Triston Harper, 17, Welcomes First Baby with Wife
The 17-year-old, who made it to the Top Five on American Idol Season 22, married his wife late last year. Shortly after, his mother-in-law revealed they were expecting their first child.
Triston Harper is officially a dad after welcoming his baby girl with his wife Paris Reed, 17. The singer's mother-in-law, Hattie Sullivan, shared the news in an excited Facebook post on Tuesday, June 24.

"Everybody my Grand Baby has made her Grand Entrance," Sullivan began. "Weighing a solid 6lbs and 6 ounces Brenley Lichelle Harper Has now arrived on the scene and she ain't here to play."
"She's already in boss mode!!!!! Feed me, Change me, Cut that bright light out. Yes ma'am whatever you want. G MA is gonna make it happen!!!!!" she wrote.
Harper announced that he married Reed on November 6, 2024. Two days later, his mother-in-law announced that she was about to be a grandmother. She posted a photo of the pair smiling at the camera as they held up a positive pregnancy test.
Some have congratulated the young couple; however, an overwhelming majority of fans have expressed disapproval and concern, given how young Harper and Reed still are.
"Why is a 17 year old getting married and reproducing!? This isn't news this is awful," one person wrote. "Huh?? He's only 17, where is his parents??" another asked.
"Married with a baby at 17 is wild," a commenter remarked. "Baby's having babies??? He isn't even a legal adult yet? 🤷♀️ [sic]," another added.
Amid the criticism, others still wished them well. "He's such an old soul… I’m wishing them so much love and happiness!" one fan wrote. "Congratulations on the new bundle of joy ," another said.
