Charlize Theron’s Look at ‘The Old Guard 2’ Premiere Sparks Criticism
The "Mad Max: Fury Road" star stepped out this week for the Los Angeles premiere of her new film—and netizens were not impressed. Her appearance comes after she shared her daughter's reaction to her hairstyle for the action flick.
Charlize Theron attended the premiere of "The Old Guard 2" at the Netflix Tudum Theater in Los Angeles, on the evening of Wednesday, June 25.

The actress opted for an edgy style for the event, wearing a bold black mesh bodysuit embroidered with the word "BALENCIAGA PARIS 1952," layered over a crop top and high-waisted bottoms.

She completed the look with a structured black blazer, black heeled boots, and slicked-back hair. In a clip circulating online, Theron can be seen posing for photos on the red carpet ahead of the screening, exuding a natural masculine energy.

Netizens, however, didn't take kindly to her choice of outfit. "What the hell is she wearing [sic]," one person wrote. "Charlize! Charlize! You forgot yer pants!!!" another exclaimed.
"Thought you had a bit more class than this?!?" a commenter remarked. "Our Charlize also decided to go out on the streets in her BLOOMERS. Why?" another asked.
Theron's appearance follows her interview on "Late Night with Seth Meyers," where she revealed that her dark brunette mullet on "The Old Guard 2" was real, and not a prop.
When the host asked how her daughters — August, 9, and Jackson, 12 — felt about the drastic change, Theron explained that the girls see her as a princess. "And they want Mom to look like a princess," she said.
She recalled them coming back from school while she was getting the haircut in her bathroom. "And I just remember looking over and they both came into the room really excited, and then they just both froze. And they just went…and one started crying," the mom of two recounted.
Theron said she had to sit her teary-eyed daughter down to explain that everyone is entitled to self-expression. "I don't tell you what to do with your hair," the actress recalled telling the youngster. Still, she replied, "I still don't like it."
