Fans React to Ezra Miller Wearing a Dress at the 2025 Filming Italy Sardegna Festival

The non-binary actor, who goes by they/them pronouns, made their first red carpet appearance in years at the event. They shared that they were working on a film with a close friend they supported at the Cannes Film Festival last month.

Ezra Miller has been attending the 2025 Filming Italy Sardegna Festival since opening day on Thursday, June 19, but they particularly turned heads on Day Three, turning up to the red carpet in a dress.

It was a long, blue-and-white striped dress with geometric patterns, paired with black boots. Miller accessorized with a small watermelon hairclip and wore their hair down.

They arrived on the red carpet and posed for pictures alongside friends Caitlin O'Connor, Joe Manganiello, and Milla-Alexia Gojkovic. As the images circulated online, netizens shared their reactions.

"Ezra, my dude, what the heck?" one fan asked. "Anything for attention," another remarked.

"What kind of humiliation ritual is this?" an onlooker inquired. "I don't understand what is the point of this," another added.

Miller's appearance comes years after a series of arrests and charges that he faced in 2022. They were first arrested in Hawai'i that March at a karaoke bar after snatching a microphone from a woman's hand and attacking a man who was playing darts.

The following month, they were arrested for striking a woman with a chair at a restaurant after becoming agitated when they were asked to leave.

More allegations arose in the months that followed, including harassing a woman in Germany, having an inappropriate relationship with a young girl they met when she was 12, and hosting three kids and their mother in Vermont in what was described as an "unsafe environment."

Miller withdrew from the limelight afterward, but returned to support his friend, Lynn Ramsay, at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival—though he wasn't photographed at the event. At Filming Italy, they revealed that they and Ramsay were working on a film together, marking Miller's return to Hollywood.
