A professional lip reader claims President Donald Trump used a tender nickname for his wife, Melania Trump, during a high-profile military parade held in celebration of his 79th birthday on June 14, 2025. The moment comes amid renewed public interest in the couple's dynamic following months of media speculation.

According to lip reader Jeremy Freeman, Trump turned to Melania and said, "Thank you, baby," after she briefly touched his back as they approached the stage. Freeman noted that the interaction was a subtle yet affectionate exchange between the First Couple.

The parade, held in Washington, D.C., was a large-scale celebration of both Trump's birthday and the 250th anniversary of the U.S. Army. The $45 million event showcased military might and historical reenactments, featuring tanks, aircraft spanning decades, and troops in both modern and period uniforms.

It marked the first time since the Gulf War in 1991 that such a massive number of service members paraded through the nation's capital. President Trump, joined by Melania, members of his family, and top officials, walked out to "Hail to the Chief" followed by "Happy Birthday" as crowds looked on.

The parade told the story of the U.S. Army from its Revolutionary War origins at the Battle of Lexington through to its present-day operations.

Melania has joined President Trump on several high profile events this past month. This comes after the New York Times posted an article highlighting her absence during the first few months of Trump's return to the White House.
