19-Year-Old Dies After Unbuckling Harness in Panic While Parasailing

The tragic and sudden passing of the 19-year-old girl occurred while she vacationed in Montenegro. A blurry clip of her scrambling to unbuckle her harness has gone viral online as authorities continue to investigate.

Tijana Radonjic passed away on Wednesday, May 28, 2025, after plunging over 160 feet over the Adriatic Sea in the Budva town of Montenegro.

According to local outlets, Radonjic had been vacationing in the Balkan country when a local agency specializing in water sports offered her a free parasailing ride. She had agreed to do a promotional shoot for the company, according to Republika.

It's reported that she underwent the required basic training prior to the ride and was in good spirits before climbing aboard. However, for reasons still under investigation, Radonjic became frantic as she began unbuckling her safety harness.

In chilling footage, she eventually manages to unfasten herself from her seat and falls into the ocean. Emergency services were called and arrived shortly after, where they pronounced her dead.

"We are all in shock after the accident that happened … I do not know exactly what happened," Mirko Krdzic, the owner of the company, told Kurir. "She did not show any fear of flying. She underwent training after which the tragedy followed."

The Kotor Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the circumstances surrounding Radonjic's death. "Technical inspections of all the equipment are underway and the results of the autopsy are awaited," Krdzic shared.

Radonjic was laid to rest in her hometown of Novi Sad, Serbia.
